The EMS community in Connecticut is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Paramedic Blair Balmforth, a deeply respected and beloved member of AMR Waterbury, who passed away unexpectedly on July 29th.

Blair was more than just a skilled paramedic — he was the very embodiment of compassion and dedication. Throughout his career in emergency medical services, Blair wore many hats, serving in various roles that showcased his unwavering commitment to helping others. But no matter the uniform or title, Blair’s calling was always the same: to serve, to care, and to uplift.

Whether responding to critical calls or mentoring younger medics, Blair brought a sense of calm, kindness, and professionalism that set the tone for every scene. He had a reputation for treating every patient with dignity and every colleague with warmth and respect. His integrity was matched by his compassion, and both were evident in the way he lived and worked each day.

His sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his coworkers, friends, and the many lives he touched through his work.
